March Construction Update!

Hello there!

Whether you're a frequent downtown visitor or someone who comes in every once in a while, you probably know that construction is certainly part of the downtown Erie experience - for now! I was given access to check out the construction site, and I couldn’t wait to get in there to see how it’s all going. So let’s grab our hard hat, sign into the visitor's log, and head outside!

The most recent and major construction site is located on the corner of 5th & Peach. This building will be home to several shops on the ground floor and 32 brand new apartments on the upper floors.

Stepping into the building, we first noticed the large windows which were just recently installed. These windows will be great for pedestrians, allowing for a clear and unobstructed view into the shops and experiences.

Next, I took the stairs all the way to the 5th floor of the building to see some of the apartments! This building will consist of one and two-bedroom apartments.

What stood out to me were the amazing views from the 5th floor. Check out some of these bay views! You’re probably asking yourself right now, “Is that a balcony?” It sure is! Some of the units on the top floor boast a concrete balcony extending out over Peach Street, giving you a fantastic bay or city view.

The final project I wanted to explore is the nearly completed 340-spot parking structure, located just behind the building off of Peach Street. The parking garage will be a welcomed addition to Downtown Erie, offering visitors a place to safely park their car and easily walk to Flagship City Food Hall, ASCEND Climbing Gym, and the many shops along State Street.

To find the parking garage, simply drive north on Peach Street from North Park Row. Once you pass 5th street, you’ll see the entrance just to the right.

We are excited to bring this building and parking garage fully online this summer. I hope you enjoyed reading along and checking out the progress of this project! Be sure to stop by someday soon to see the activity for yourself.

We’ll see you downtown!

-Ryan
